The Eight of Cups The Eight of Cups represents abandoning the old in search of a deeper meaning, solitude, sadness, and change. In this card, one is growing weary with the way things have been, and is urged to leave part of the past behind in search of that which will be more fulfilling and inspiring. It is a card of transition, but instead of charging forward with enthusiasm, the figure portrayed in the card emerges from the water slowly, cautiously, and with a bit of sadness and reluctance. She hangs on to a bit of moss, but at the same time, drops the last of her cups into the water, as she moves forward, alone, on her path. |
