It is a time to put projects on hold, get rid of distractions and concentrate on introspection and meditation in order to re-evaluate one's goals and current path. The Hermit seeks the truth and the greater knowledge of the universe.The Hermit in this card is portrayed sitting alone on a mountaintop, looking down at the world below, in order to gain a greater perspective and deeper understanding. All is quiet and still as the Hermit listens closely to the hum of the universe, which brings with it a greater sense of balance and peace.
